Overview
Experience Māori culture, traditions and cuisine at Mitai Māori Village in Rotorua. Witness Māori warriors paddling a traditional waka taua (war canoe) along the Wai-o-Whiro Stream, participate in a traditional pōwhiri (welcome ceremony) and enjoy cultural performances featuring waiata (songs), mōteatea (traditional chants), poi and haka. Discover ancestral weapons, instruments and the sacred spring, followed by a traditional hāngī buffet lunch cooked using the Māori earth-oven method. The experience concludes with a poroporoaki (farewell).
